    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. Kerry R. Retzel

Raymond C. Retzel made initial attempts to enlist at the start of WW II but was turned down due to an injury. Unlike what most people would have done, he had special medical treatment so he could pass the physical examination. During recovery he attempted again to enlist a number of times, meanwhile working as a crane operator and at his fatherâ€(tm)s ranch until he was accepted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. My father completed his training as a B-29 flight engineer and remained in active service to 1946 as a 2nd Lt. This honorable service was followed with 10 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
