My father, Raymond Ramiller, worked as a technical illustrator for north American Aviation (later Rockwell) from the mid 1940s until his retirement in 1974. He was a journeyman draftsman and illustrator during the heyday of airbrush rendering. For almost three decades, North American applied Raymond’s talents to project proposals, technical manuals, engineering design studies, and training programs. Among the many programs on which he worked, the following are noteworthy: F86, F100, F107, F108, B70, X-15, and the B1. In his ~30 years in the aerospace industry, Raymond Ramiller contributed to the nation’s defense and the advancement/use of technology. He passed away July 15, 2001.
