Raymond E. Carney, Sr. was a pilot for many years. He loved to fly and he would have loved visiting Udvar-Hazy Center. However he died of cancer before he had the opportunity to visit the new museum. In life he was truly a friend of air and space.

There was no place he would rather be than piloting his airplane through the heavens above.
