    Raymond Keith Horton worked at Trans World Airlines from 1941 until his retirement in 1983. During those 42 years, he was involved in the design and development of ground equipment for the maintenance and servicing of transport aircraft. He edited and codified the maintenance manuals of procedures and supervised the technical aspects of aircraft maintenance for TWA. In addition, he led investigations of aircraft accidents and directed recovery efforts. At the time of his retirement, he was Director of Line Maintenance for TWA, and supervised and coordinated all aspects of line maintenance activities for the airline. Throughout his career, he worked to raise maintenance standards, resulting in improved safety for both TWA and the airline industry.
