Peggy was always active in sports as well as other ventures in the church and school. Yet the excitement of flying in an open cockpit of a biplane at eleven years of age was never forgotten. Her heroine was Amelia Earhart, “yearning to launch out into the challenges of life.” She excelled in academics, music and voice in achieving her goal as an ordained United Methodist Minister. She pastured churches in New England, Florida and Indiana, as well as co-pastoring with her husband George Jr. on Martha’s Vineyard Island, MA. She achieved all of her goals. She died in her sleep in 2001.
