    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

As a small boy on an Iowa farm he can recall watching the barnstormers flying their biplanes across the acres of fields. One of his first boyhood memories was listening to the radio broadcast of the Lindberg's landing in Paris. It is memories of these events that seemed to set his life's direction.

When called to serve in WWII he joined the Army Air Corps and flew B-24's in the European theater. During his training he was stationed in Pueblo, Colorado. It was there he met his life-long love, Margaret. When he returned to the States, they married and moved to Tulsa, OK where he finished his enlistment.

After being discharged, he and his bride headed to the Los Angeles area, where they both worked at North American Aviation Company. During his time there he worked on such groundbreaking projects as the X-15, X-70, B-1, Apollo and the Space Shuttle.
