Capt. Hutcheson was awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation, the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak leaf Cluster and one Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He flew 25 missions in the Pacific Theater during World War II and 55 combat missions in the Korean War.
