    Dick, born 1919, was an aviator all his adult life. He learned to fly before driving a car.
    He graduated from the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics and was an aeronautical engineer for Vought-Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. and American Export Airlines. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps. He sold aircraft and gave flight instruction at Palwaukee Airport in Wheeling, Illinois and became company pilot for Duo-Fast Corp., flying its airplane and helicopter.
    Dick designed and built one of the first VW powered homebuilt aircraft – “Moon Maid”. He was an early and active member of the Experimental Aviation Association and was also a member of the Quiet Birdmen and the Silver Wings and the United Flying Octogenarians.
    He died August 2000.
