    Richard J. Pawelski was born in Reading, PA in 1934. He graduated from Lafayette College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and from University of Pennsylvania Medical School where he was a member of the medical honorary fraternity, Alpha Omega Alpha. He did graduate studies at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York where he was also a member of the teaching faculty.
    Doctor Pawelski served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Medical Corps with the Fifth Division at Fort Carson, CO, in 1962 and 1963. Married and the father of four, he was a practicing radiologist in Harrisburg, PA, for 30 years, serving as an officer in Tristan Associates and the Pennsylvania Radiological Association. Now retired, he currently lives in Arlington, Virginia and Chincoteague Island, VA, where he volunteers as a church organist.
    Richard Pawelski was a private pilot. Over the years, he took every opportunity to bring both friends and associates to programs at the Air and Space Museum and the Silver Hill facility. He has been and remains one of aviation's best enthusiasts.
