    Richard Jean Michel Conte, 68 of Orangevale, California passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 doing what he loved most...flying. Richard was born in Port au Prince, Haiti on October 7, 1955. He immigrated to the U.S. in June of 1966. He attended Ascension School in New York until June of 1968. In 1972, Richard graduated from New York Aviation High School, where he was a member of the Honor Society and Jr. ROTC. From there he joined the United States Air Force 1973-1977. He worked with the Folsom Police Department for approximately 2 years, then was with the Oakland Police Department for 10 years. He then worked for a few years for the United States Customs Service. He spent the rest of his career with the Federal Aviation Administration s Flight Standards field office in Sacramento as a Flight Safety Inspector. He retired in 2016, after 33+ years of service to the people of the United States. After retirement he and his wife Terri continued their business, R&T Aviation, where they managed numerous private aircrafts. He was also devoted to training both the Sacramento Police Department Air Support Unit and the Placer County Sheriff Air Unit. He was a Designated Pilot Examiner in his spare time helping many new pilots reach their dreams. Richard and Terri attended Bayside Granite Bay Church and both had a deep faith.
