Richard T. Melvin, Physicist - Engineer at McDonnell-Douglas Corp 1962-1994. A master at discovering and eliminating weakness in any given design, Rick contributed directly and measurably to the superior design and unqualified success of the F-4, F-111, F-15, F/A-18 and AV-8B aircraft as well as the Gemini, Apollo and Mars Lander spacecraft. Further demonstrating his tremendous professional agility he lead the company's design effort to perfect IVADIZER aluminum coating technology. From wind tunnel testing, to load path design and analysis, to crew escape systems, to flight training system development, Rick enjoyed a wide and varied career where his efforts are reflected daily in the MCD aircraft flying today - all around the globe.
