    Mr. Sanger was a licensed pilot and publisher of an aviation magazine in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1930s. In his photograph album were snapshots of The Spirit of St. Louis when it stopped in Chicago on its way to the East Coast in 1927 and Jimmy Doolittle when he happened to be in Chicago. He was the uncle and godfather of Richard Ranson U. S. Army Air Corps 1943-1945 as a flight officer and twin engine pilot.
