    World War II Navy vet -- graduated University of California - Berkeley 1950, BScME.

    - Charter member of XB-52 design team, Boeing Airplane Co.
    - Designed first fuselage diverter for Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft -- Hiller Co.
    - Designed first successful cold weather EPS for helicopters, Lockheed
    - Designed first venturi pump fuel system on S-3A anti-submarine warfare (ASW) carrier aircraft, Lockheed
    - Discovered the endothermic properties of silicones which solved the base heating problem of the Polaris (Trident) missile design - Lockheed. This discovery, as silicone rubber, was later utilized for all missile designs and the Mercury reentry body protection.
    - Designed soft surveillance satellite - Hughes Aircraft
    - Developed target-on-wire (TOW) missile system for tracked vehicles used by Israeli forces in 5-day war. FMC
    - Employed on design of one-man helicopter, ducted fan helicopters and first ramjet blade helicopter.
    - Designed an advanced aerial refueling system for carrier aircraft. SBD-Lockheed
    - Commended by Lockheed CEO in January 2000 for "Containing Communism."
