Robert F. Reilman, Sr. soloed on his 16th birthday, Feb. 5, 1941 in Ft. Wayne. Indiana; served in the Navy cadet program in World War II and flew for thirty years for Eastern Air Lines, retiring as a L-1011 Captain.
Sons Robert F. Reilman, Jr. and Jon Thomas Reilman both graduated from the Air Force Academy and served as officers in the U. S. Air Force as did daughter Susan Wisnom whose 25 year career was spent in Space Management at the Cape. Jon and Daniel Joseph are airline pilots. Daughter Mary Beth Last earned her pilot's license while in college. Son James Patrick is a businessman.
