Robert H (Bob) Burt, Sr worked 39 years at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), and supported wind tunnel testing for NASA projects starting with Gemini, Apollo, and the Space Shuttle. He supported hypersonic wind tunnel testing of the shuttle over a ten year timeframe, tests ranging from liftoff thru booster separation, external tank separation and re-entry. Until the first shuttle flight, NASA only had wind tunnel data that was generated from AEDC to validate safe flight parameters. He retired from AEDC, and continued working for MicroCraft for a few years afterwards. He is pictured with his wife, Earline.
