FIRST LIEUTENANT NOLT SERVED WITH THE INDIA-CHINA DIVISION OF THE AIR TRANSPORT COMMAND AS A PILOT WHEN IT MADE AIR HISTORY BY FLYING CARGO AND PASSENGERS IN REGULARLY SCHEDULED DAY TRANSIT ROUTES OVER THE FAMED "HUMP" IN INDIA DURING WWII, AND FOR WHICH HE WAS AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL.
