Robert L. "Bob" Clarke began his career at Wright Aeronautical in Patterson, New Jersey in 1940. In 1944 he joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) at Lewis Research Laboratory in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bob retired in 1979 as Branch Chief of the Engine Research Division at Lewis.
