    Robert Norris Clark was born May 3, 1934, son of William James and Flowers Norris Clark of Manning, SC. He was graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1956 with a business degree and an Air Force commission.
    A C-130 navigator, Clark was stationed in France, the Philippines, Virginia, Arkansas and Tennessee. He flew missions across the globe, in Africa, Europe, South America, and Asia. He flew nearly 600 missions in Vietnam, including air drops at Khe Sanh.
    Clark was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, master Navigator Wings, and numerous air medals. He was Air Operations Officer and chief of Wing Training at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. He logged more than 70,000 hours in the C-130 during his 25-year Air Force career.
    His first wife, Helen O'Connor, died in 1996. In 2002, he married Sylvia Hanna Weinberg. He has three children: Catherine Clark Flowers (William), James Clark (Diana), and Kimberly Clark Wood (Mike), and nine grandchildren.
