    Honored by:
    Ms. Katherine L. Carroll

Robert R. Carroll (my Father) born June 5,1918 was first introduced to aviation in Word War II when he moved from the Army to joined the Newly formed Army Air Corp. He serviced on a B-17 as Gunner/ Flight Engineer in the African and European Campaigns. He served in the Korean Conflict as a Flight Engineer and in peace time as a Flight Engineer on C-133 Transports at Travis Air Force Base.
After retiring from the Air Force, with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, my father started his career in the Aerospace Industry working with General Dynamics at Vandenberg Air Force Base launching Atlas missals. Then he moved on to work with MacDonald Douglas in St. Louse on the Gemini space craft. His last move in the Aerospace Industry was with General Electric working on building the launch facilities for the Apollo Program and then as part of the launch pad damage assessment crew for Apollo launches. My father was one of the many people that helped put man on the moon.
