    Bill Grenier served in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross “for heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight as Radioman and Gunner of a Torpedo Plane in Torpedo Squadron Ten,” attached to the U.S.S. Enterprise, during operations against the enemy Japanese forces in the Marianas Islands from June 19 to 29, 1944.
