Roger's aviation career is an example of determination and perseverance. At a young age, Roger was told that his dream of becoming a commercial pilot would never be realized due to less than perfect eyesight. In his early twenties, he became a general aviation pilot, quickly amassing numerous certificates and ratings, including Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFII) and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI). He funded his flying by working several jobs, while also raising a family.

In 1991, Roger founded an air charter company, Twin Cities Air Service, Inc. He began this venture, literally "from scratch," building a client base through exceptional service and word of mouth. As a result of Roger's hard work, the company grew from a one-aircraft, one-pilot organization into one of Maine's largest air charter and aviation service companies.

Roger has enjoyed flying a wide variety of general aviation aircraft, especially Cessna 402B/C, a Beech King Air 100, and a North American T28B. He has also been active as a volunteer Aviation Safety Counselor for the Portland, Maine Flight Standards District Office (FSDO).
