Mr. Gordon C. Kafer

In recognition of Rose Marie Kafer for her dedicated and dependable support spanning the 30 years her husband, Gordon C. Kafer, performed engineering and engineering management work with Honeywell, in the design, development, and testing of man-rated air and space flight control systems. She "stood by her man" during times that, due to the nature of Gordon's work, caused significant personal sacrifices having to be made in their lives. Indeed, during the Shuttle Entry "Tiger Team" Redesign she completed her baccalaureate degree. And proceeded to develop as an outstanding Certified Legal Assistant, in addition to contributing so much in her innumerable volunteer civic and social efforts. Her involvement and personal qualities produced significant benefits to Gordon and his coworkers, particularly during his flight test assignment in Linkoping, Sweden, and the many years of challenging activity on the Space Shuttle program. She assisted Gordon in his duties that were recognized and greatly appreciated within the local, regional, and national offices of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) which he served. She had a major role in helping him to perform duties as an AIAA national director, 1987- 1990. Rose Marie was a University of South Florida honors graduate, held memberships in Pi Gamma Mu, Phi Kappa Phi, PEO, Pinellas County Historical Society and National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
