    Roy A. Rogers served as chief warrant officer in the 7th Squadron, 17th Air Cavalry, U.S. Army and was engaged in combat in Vietnam from October 1967-1968. He then made his career as a helicopter pilot working across the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. before finally settling in Southeast Texas, where he continued flying throughout the Gulf Coast region. He is also a published author, documenting the stories of Vietnam helicopter pilots in the semi-fictitious book, Jackson’s Mountain. He retired from aviation in 2006 and now lives with his wife in Pueblo West, Colorado.
