    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

Sandra Lee Cole, daughter of Thurston Kulaas Lee (foil 26, panel 2, column 2, line 8) and Evelyn Bracker Lee (foil 9, panel 1, column 2, line 8), reflects her family aviation heritage as a Smithsonian Air & Space volunteer at the Visitors Desk, first at the mall museum and at Udvar Hazy since its opening December 15, 2003.

During WWII, her father trained RAF pilots and flew Air Transport Command throughout the Pacific, from Australia to China. Following WWII he was among the first pilots to establish Trans Texas Airways, a predecessor company for Texas International Airways, Continental and Continental/United.

She and her family, including husband Charles Cole, daughters Sharlee Cole Little, Shelley Cole and son Charles Cole, Jr. have enjoyed many international adventures thanks to the opportunities of modern day air travel.

The pleasure of volunteering includes greeting people from around the world, answering their questions, listening to their stories, meeting their needs and learning more about aviation -- past, present, future.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
