    A native of Atlanta, Georgia he has experienced 80 years of cultural and technological change and progress. A WWII Veteran serving in the United States Navy in the V12 program, Adamson completed his education at Georgia Tech university in Industrial Engineering and went into a career of mathematics teaching at the McCallie Military School in Chattanooga, Tennessee for approximately 15 years, where he served as Golf Coach and teacher of Astronomy. He continued to teach until age 70 at the college level in Chattanooga, Kentucky, and Ohio.
    With avid curiosity, optimism, and knowledge about aviation and space exploration, he encouraged and taught his children, grandchildren and students of more than fifty years to appreciate the opportunity to be part of this exciting time of their lives and to continue this legacy. His noble spirit as an educator and human being will be long remembered.
