Marie enlisted in the WAAC after its inception and was assigned to HDQTRS in Des Moines, Iowa for training in the secretarial field. Thence to Jefferson City, MO and finally ended up in Pueblo Field, CO with the 8th Air Force Unit that shipped overseas to England in 1943. Her unit followed the invasion into France during 1944 based outside of Paris. Her unit moved into Germany with its base at Wiesbaden for the remainder of the war before returning to the USA and discharge. Her brothers George Jr. and Chester were drafted into the Army in 1942. Her later life and talent was with Bell Labs. She died in 1981.
