    Lt. Sheldon F. Koesy was born July 6, 1923 in Miami, Florida. Graduated from high school June, 1941 and appointed Aviation Cadet Army Air Forces, April 1, 1942. Graduated from Army Air Forces Flight School April 29, 1943, followed by P-40 operational training.

    Assigned to 74th Fighter Squadron, U.S. 14th Air Force in China, November, 1943 to December 1944. Completed 83 combat missions an awarded Purple Heart, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Distinguished Flying Cross.

    Assigned to Buckingham Army Air Base, Ft. Myers, Florida until relief from extended active duty September 30, 1945.

    Continued in U.S. Air Force Reserve until retirement on April 1, 1971.
