Entered the new USAF branch in 1950 to serve in the Korean War as an F86 Sabre Jet Mechanic. Discharged in 1954. Entered the Air National Guard in 1958 and was recalled during the “Berlin Crisis”, 1961. Participated in “Operation Stair Step” (Deployment of 90 F86H’s direct to France). Stationed in Phalsburg France while his F86 flew the “Berlin Corridor” (1961-1962). Returned to US in 1962. Worked as an Air Technician in the 104th FW MASSANG until retirement in 1988. Awarded 2 AFMCs, 1 AFAM, 2 NDef Medals, Good Conduct and Overseas Ribbon. A 1980 graduate of the USAF NCO Academy, Knoxville, Tenn., and many USAF Tech Schools. A Flight Engineer on various aircraft while in Air National Guard. Discharged with rank of Senior M. Sgt.
