Honored by:

Enlisted November 1939 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and graduated from Mechanics School. Assigned to 27th Bomber Group.
Departed for the Philippines in November 1941 and was Japanese Prisoner of War 1942 - 1945. Was in the Bataan Death March and survivor of the last Hell Ship to leave the Philippines.
Re-enlisted in 1945 at WPAFB and assigned to Bomber Flight Test 1946 - 1962. Flight Engineer on the original Flight Tests of XB-45, B-47, B-52. Also Flight Test on projects with B-50, B-29, B-17 and B-25.
Organized and managed the WPAFB Aero Club from 1958 - 1962 with 10 aircraft and a membership of over 400.
Upon retiring in 1962 from WPAFB Flight Test Division with 3,300 flight hours, was awarded Medal of Commendation.
Also holds the following FAA licenses: Aircraft and Engine Mechanics, Inspectors, Commercial and Helicopter Pilot.
