S/SGT Herbert Williams Jr. (1922-1991 enlisted in 1940 and following training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina transferred to the Army Air Corps at Pope Field, North Carolina.
After extensive training in the United States, he flew with Chenault's "Flying Tigers" first with a Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron in India, and then with
a Fighter Squadron in China as America entered World War II and Japan declared War. His remains are interred in the Arlington National Crematorium.
