Second Airdrome Squadron, Fifth Air Force. Entered service in '42. As Lead Carpenter in an air base squadron, supported Gen. McArthur's island-hopping drive up the western rim of the Pacific, from Australia to New Guinea, Kiriwina, Philippines, Okinawa and Korea. During 31 months of arduous duty, without leave, supported the air war by repairing hangars on captured Japanese airfields, and building mess halls and the essential edifices at the other end of the food process (without causing a single butt-splinter!)

Discharged on return to the States in late '45. Recalled during Korean War, served in Miss, and Texas.
