Served as a tail gunner, 8th Air Force, 401st Bomb Group, Deenethorpe, England. Flew 32 missions over Germany and Europe in 1944. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, four Battle =Stars, Air Crew Bomber Medal from Great Britain. Received his discharge on August 15, 1945 from Valley Forge Army Hospital. Crew member of “Der Grossarchangel” #339125M “Triangle S”.
