    Walter Salzmann enlisted in the Army Air Corps. Nov 19 1942. He attended gunnery school in Kingman, AZ radio school in Truax Wi. Instructor of advance code in Madison, WI.
    He was assigned to the 425 Bomb Sqdn. 308 Bomb Group Sent to CBI Theater joining the Flying Tigers.
    Serving in China at Kweilin, Kunming and other bases. He flew 52 missions had 360 combat hours.
    Salzmann was discharged on Oct 26 1945 with rank of Staff Sergeant. His awards include Distinguished Flying Cross WOLC,and the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars.
    He married twice having a one son Emil J by the first marriage . Married Helen Newman in 1950.
    He passed away June 19,1990.
