My Dad was always interested in aviation. While working for my Grandfather during the depression, he managed to earn his pilot’s license for the Piper Cub. He tried to enlist in the Air Force during WWII, but failed the physical. He went on to earn the Bronze Star medal as a 1st Lt. in the Army. He earned his commercial pilot’s license for gliders and flew to age 77. I recently accompanied him on a visit to the Air & Space Museum, and it was as if I had my own private guide. Dad knows something about every plane exhibited!
