Born on November 18, 1929, in Boonton, New Jersey, Stephen J. Maciag developed a lifelong appreciation of aviation at an early age.

His aviation interest has found expression in numerous activities and pursuits over the years.

As an accomplished master model maker, he has produced countless finely crafted wooden aircraft models from all periods of aviation, but particularly from the 'Golden Age' of aviation of the 1930's, which can be found in several museums and private collections. He continues to receive commissions to produce these classic aircraft for display.

In his abiding desire to preserve our aviation heritage, he has for more than 50 years, sought out and acquired countless aviation artifacts, books, and memorabilia, thus ensuring that these historically significant objects are preserved for future generations.

He has become a widely known participant at many air shows in the northeast, most notably the Sussex Air Show in New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum Air Show in Reading, Pennsylvania, and is eagerly sought out by aviation collectors as a source of rare and unique aviation-related collectibles.

He continues to be a driving force in preserving aviation history in New Jersey
