    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. Steve Autry

Steve Williams is the strongest advocate of flight that I have ever met. Steve was introduced to aviation at a young age by his uncle, who was an Eastern Airlines employee. Steve's interest in aviation was not limited to any one area. He absorbed all aspects of aviation from the elements of flight to the detailed workings of the engines and avionics.

Steve obtained his pilot's license at age 16. His aviation career from that point forward included serving in the Us Navy as a P-3 pilot, serving as a commercial pilot for Eastern Airlines, obtaining rotor wing and glider ratings, and instructing hundreds of student pilots.

Steve then moved into the avionics business where he made an immediate impact by starting and running the company which developed and certified the first single-pilot IFR platform for helicopters. He then moved to flight simulation, aviation sheet metal manufacturing, and finally to ownership of Freeflight Systems, Ltd where he led the development of the world's first certified GPS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) sensor. He continues to promote the future of aviation by offering employees free ground school and flight training. He is, in my estimation aviation's greatest cheerleader.
