    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Dr. Greg Vanichkachorn

Suvinee Vanichkachorn began her years of dedication and service to the Smithsonian Institution in the early 1990s. Initially, she began as an employee in several of the gallery stores and as a Docent.

After earning a Masters Degree at George Washington University, she began work with the Explainers Program at the National Air and Space Museum. With her enduring commitment, this program helped volunteer students share the wonders of aviation with thousands of museum visitors in the How Things Fly Gallery at the Air and Space Museum. By the late 1990's, Ms. Vanichkachorn had become the Program Coordinator of the Explainers Program.

Unfortunately, Ms. Vanichkachorn's service was cut short by rapidly progressing ovarian cancer, and she passed away at the age of 33 in March of 2001. As a tribute to her unforgettable personality and devotion, scores of her colleagues at the Air and Space Museum attended her funeral.

While Ms. Vanichkachorn's life ended all too quickly, the results of her dedication to the wonders of flight continue onward in the The Explainers Program at the National Air and Space Museum today.
