    Although exempt with wife and three children, enlisted as Aviation Cadet just after Pearl Harbor. Became B-24 bomber pilot. Spent all of 1944 in China Burma India theater. Bomber Burma, China, Adaman islands, Thailand. Laid mines from 100 feet in Bangkok Harbor against the Japanese. During monsoon, when unable to bomb, flew gas over The Hump using bomb bay tanks to the 14th Air Force in China. 30 trips over The Hump. 40 missions, 406:48 hours of combat. 2 DFC’s, 2 Air Medals, 2 Major Engagement Stars on Asiatic Pacific Medal, American Defense, Victory.
