Thomas E. Bohmer's interest in aviation began as a youth building model airplanes and balsawood flying models. At the age of 18 Tom joined the US Air Force and served as a crew chief on KC-135 aircraft.,

After leaving the Air Force, Tom worked for United Airlines, Frederick Aviation, and Valujet Airlines. Current employment (2004) is at Federal Express working as a FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician.

Tom Bohmer completed his Bachelor's degree at the University of Baltimore and is currently (in 2004) earning his Master of Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
