During WWII, United Airlines flew under contract with the Air Transport Command (ATC) in the Pacific Arena. I was one of the original group of navigators hired for this operation. We flew military C-87s and C-54s under military orders. We also flew during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts using United planes. Altogether including the commercial flying, I spent over 33 years flying the Pacific Ocean for United. I became a member of the Retired United Pilots Association after retirement.
