    #1 Major Thomas A. Neal, 8th TAC Fighter Wing awarded the DFC for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an F4D Aircraft Commander over North Vietnam on 27 July 1968. On mat date Maj. Neal dealt a sever blow to a vital hostile transportation network, and then with great flexibility and dispatch proceeded to damage and destroy portions of a large truck convoy bearing valuable supplies to enemy forces in South Vietnam, while under heavy offensive ground fire. His extraordinary achievements contributed most significantly to reduction of vital material to the enemy. The professional competence, aerial shill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Neal reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air force.

    #2 Major Thomas A. Neal awarded the DFC for heroism while distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement participating in aerial flight as an F4D Aircraft Commander over Southeast Asia on 17 August 1968. On that date, Major Neal led his flight, diverted to support ground operations conducted by friendly troops being over run by the enemy forces. In the face of heavy and extremely accurate automatic weapon fire, Major Neal made repeatedly accurate ordnance deliveries that enabled besieged friendly forces to successfully defeat a numerically superior opposing force. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Neal reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air force.

    #3 Major Thomas A. Neal, 8th TAC Fighter Wing, awarded the DFC for heroism while participating in aerial flight over North Vietnam on the 20th of September 1968. On that date Major Neal led a highly successful combat mission directed against active hostile antiaircraft artillery gun positions that posed a serious threat to friendly aircraft. In the face of overwhelming hostile ground fire, Major Neal made repeatedly accurate ordnance deliveries that resulted in the complete neutralization of the gun emplacements allowing the extraction of a downed friendly aircrew. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Neal reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air force.
