Thomas P. Lawn was a lifelong fan of aviation. At the age of ten he was inspired by Charles Lindbergh’s solo transatlantic flight. As a young man he served in the Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot during World War II. When he passed away in 1992, it was on 21 May, the anniversary of Lindbergh’s flight.
