Captain Tom Sharpe

Tom started flying at 15 years old. His life time dream was to one day fly for Piedmont Airlines. His dream came true in 1975 when he went to work for Piedmont. On March 15, 1982 he was the captain on the last flight of a Piedmont Airlines YS-11 aircraft from Tri Cities, Tennessee to Winston Salem, North Carolina. This was the end of an era in Piedmont history. He flew captain on the Boeing 727, 737, and 767 after that flight. He later retired as an international captain on the Air Bus 330 after merging with US Airways. Piedmont Airlines is and always will be the greatest airline in history for Tom and the many others who were fortunate enough to be a part of that great company.
