    Beth Tindall

Tim grew up in a suburb of Syracuse, NY near the abandoned site of Syracuse Municipal Airport. Part of a paved runway made a great playground for bikes, go-carts, etc. In its day, the airport hosted such aviation pioneers as Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and Wiley Post.
In the late 70’s Tim joined the Navy, following in the footsteps of his father and two older brothers. In a career that spanned twenty years, he deployed from both U.S. coasts, serving as a crewmember aboard the Lockheed P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft. He also had the opportunity to fly aboard Royal Air Force Nimrod and Sea King, Canadian Argus, French Atlantique and Japanese P-3 aircraft.
In semi-retirement, Tim has volunteered at the National Air & Space Museum Archives since 2006. Aircraft made famous by the above mentioned aviators greet him on each visit. He conducts research of archival and library holdings and provides responses to public inquiries on a variety of aviation and space related subjects. He has also been involved with collection processing and entry into the archives digital database.
