- Contributed to the first shuttle flight by performing environmental testing of the shuttle payload USS-1 pallet; received Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC)/National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) award in 1981.
- Performed Hubble Space Telescope (HST) structural testing and analysis. HST maintenance award 1987.
- Received special award from GSFC/NASA for the getaway special space payload in the third shuttle flight, March 22-30, 1982 (the getaway program permitted interested individuals or groups to fly small experiments on the shuttle).
- Received Fairchild Industries FSC president's award, 1986.
- Made first space station computer model displayed in the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
