    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. Greg Ludlow

Travis Vincent Hays had always dreamed of being an astronaut. When he was less than 5 years old he was already building rockets and studying space with his engineer father, Gary Hays. Travis had a keen appetite for all things space and memorized astronauts names and even lines from movies such as Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff. Travis also had a knowledge of science well beyond his years. He was an inventor and was always interested in how things were made and how things worked. Often you would find a box of circuit boards or electronic parts in his room, which by the way was decorated with a space theme and planets and constellations on the ceiling. There is a even learning center named after Travis at his elementary school, Salmon Creek Elementary, in Vancouver, Washington.
In this learning center, students have access to Lego Robotics and many science based workshops throughout the year.
We hope Travis is exploring space wherever he is now... You see he passed away from a head injury after a car accident when he was only 10 years old. We know he would have made many important contributions to the air and space industry because he dreamed big!
