    Fifty-three years of accomplishments in government and industry.
    * As one of the early pioneers of guided missiles, he directed research and development of the early ramjets and rockets that eventually powered US Air Force intercontinental ballistic Titan and Atlas missiles, as well as Bomarc and other defense missiles.
    * He directed the USAF nuclear propulsion program.
    * He was Deputy Director of Engineering for the X-20 (Dynasoar) program.
    * He was also Director of Engineering for the F-111 Air Force fighter aircraft program.
    * After retirement from the Air Force, he was a consultant to industry and government.
