Enlisted 14 January 1942 and discharged 9 October 1945. Flew 50 combat missions as Flight Engineer and the top turret gunner on B -24 heavy bombers.
Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and two Unit Citations.
