    Honored by:
    Mr. Vance Gildersleeve

    Senior Flight Radio Officer Vance E. Gildersleeve was with Pan American World Airways from October 6, 1941 until June 6, 1949. I flew on DC-3s out of Brownsville, TX through Mexico, Central America, and the north coast of South America to Trinidad. I flew on the B-307s, Clippers 902, 903 and 910 out of New Orleans, LA to Merida, Mexico and return and DC-4s out of New Orleans to Panama to Miami, FL and return. I flew DC-4s on all Pan Am Pacific flights out of San Francisco, CA until terminated on June 6, 1949. I have attached a copy of a page out of my logbook of flights on Clipper Flying Cloud. Give the"0ld Girl" a pat for me. {Editor's note: The log for Vance Gildersleeve shows flights in NC903 (the Boeing 307 Stratoliner "Clipper Flying Cloud" now at the Udvar-Hazy Center) on five days in January 1946 for a total of 28 hours 55 minutes.}
