    Venkatesan 'Prasad' Sundararajan was born in India where he spent his childhood in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, India. Prasad Sundararajan's keen interest in the field of Aerospace Engineering brought him to Montreal, Canada where he pursued a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Aerospace and Robotics from Concordia University. In the year 1994, Prasad arrived in the United States to pursue a Masters degree in Business Administration from Rollins College, Florida. He also holds an Advanced Project Management certificate from Stanford University School of Engineering, California.

    As an active member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) organization, Prasad Sundararajan has been involved in aerospace related activities throughout his graduate education and professional career both at the regional and national levels. His primary areas of interest and expertise are:
    -space strategy and policy studies of emerging space powers,
    -comparative economic analysis,
    -the practical application of internet technologies for knowledge management and disbursement of aerospace related information.

    Prasad Sundararajan was elected an Associate Fellow of AIAA in 2010 for his outstanding contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. (Article III 3.2 AIAA Constitution). He is also a member of the AIAA National Economics Technical Committee.

    Aerospace India (www.aerospaceinindia.org) an independent and comprehensive open access network on Indian aerospace activities was founded by Prasad Sundararajan in 1998. He serves as its Research Director. Prasad Sundararajan has authored and presented several research papers through AIAA Conferences. He is also a contributing author for "Space Exploration and Humanity: A Historical Encyclopedia" published by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) in 2010. His research article was also selected as part of the "Space Exploration Bibliography 2004 - 2008" by the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI).

    Prasad Sundararajan soloed in a modern composite light sport aircraft on December 17, 2009 in North Carolina. He is an FAA certificated Sport Pilot who enjoys flying and taking cross-country trips.
